Dear music lovers

TRMS's 44th AGM took place on Wednesday December 11 at the Baptist Church High Street Rickmansworth. Sadly I could not attend this meeting due to my pre-planned school commitments.

I, therefore, asked my colleague, Mick Currey, to read this statement on my behalf.

First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the members, patrons and friends for their loyalty and support throughout the last season. With this, I look forward to the next season.

Secondly, I am pleased through sheer tenacity, dedication and support of the trustees and friends, the society has not only survived from the brink of closure but we have a track record of healthy number of evening and lunchtime concerts as well as a healthy bank balance -

This has been possible only due to a fantastic team work

  • David Budge – for managing the promotion, marketing, press releases which are not only submitted on a timely basis but also skilfully and finely worded and structured;
  • Mick Currey – for keeping track of membership and mailing lists up to date with regular periodic mailshots;
  • Denise Wellham – for managing the secretarial matters as well as managing front desk ticketing at all concerts;
  • Irvin Needle – for efficiently managing the treasurer’s role and for producing and submitting the company accounts properly and in time;
  • Steven Halls – for his immaculate planning and bringing in talented and world renown musicians to Rickmansworth, meticulously putting together the programme book for each concert after the necessary research and for producing the posters;
  • John Donegan – for not only being an active and supportive trustee on the board but also contributing immensely by putting together 4 wonderful concerts each one of them not only was in profit because John and his fellow musicians do not charge TRMS their normal fees;
  • Sue Howse – immensely grateful to Sue (supported by her husband Alistair) who simply took over the complete ownership of refreshments and to do it consistently with good quality;
  • John Norris – for all his help on the website, taking charge and paying for the webhosting but also very generous and regular financial donations from the Elgar Society and
  • Thelma Golden – ever so grateful for her contribution and her active support and help at almost every concert in spite of her personal health difficulties from time to time.

Finally my immense gratitude for Steven Halls for an exceptionally generous donation as a result of the Hallses & Moody Concert. Steven's commitment and dedication to TRMS remains rock solid and his generosity beyond belief.

In conclusion, a huge thank you to all the support and help you have voluntarily given to TRMS and I look forward to working with you in the new year.

Best wishes for you and your family for a happy new year.
